Cameron Capell is a left handing hitting outfielder that attends Kerr-Vance Academy outside of Raleigh, NC. Capell is as good as there is at swinging the bat from the left side and a very solid outfielder with serious arm strength. He gunned down 3 runners in the 17U WWBA at the plate last summer from centerfield. Outstanding make-up.
#4 MICHAEL GILROY - BROOKLAND CAYCE HS
Micheal Gilroy 2011 LHP from Columbia, SC. Gilroy plays his high school baseball for Coach Brian Hucks at Brookland-Cayce , which is one of the top programs in SC every year. Michael is a competitor and has good stuff on the mound. His velocity has been in the mid 80's and has excellent secondary stuff. He is the definition of a crafty left-hander. He is not afraid to throw any pitch in any count to any hitter...simply fearless. Michael is also one of the best team guys we have. He keeps the team loose at all times. Awesome and fun player to be around!
#8 JAKE CAVE - KECOUGHTAN HIGH SCHOOL - LSU
Jake Cave 2011 LHP/OF/1B from Hampton, VA. Cave has recently transferred to AAA Kecoughtan High School. Petty's comments on Cave: "Jake is one of the premier players in the United States. The full package. Lights out stuff on the mound with a fastball that has been clocked as high as 92 mph. Swings the bat for high average, and high power. Cave has a legitimate shot to be a high draft pick if he keeps improving and there is no doubt that he is hungry to get better. Cave will be a middle of the order presence in 2010 and a big game pitcher as well. No one will play the game harder or take it more seriously than Cave does and several scouts have made comments about how seriously he goes about his business. It sets him apart from your regular good player!

Maples hurled the first complete game no-hitter in the WWBA National Championship game last summer. Maples is headed to UNC to pitch and also kick field goals for the football team. Off the charts athlete. Maples' fastball has been clocked as high as 93 mph and he posseses a devastating 12 to 6 breaking ball with feel for a change-up. Maples is currently ranked #11 prospect in the United States by Perfect Game!
#10 GRAYSON ATWOOD - MT. PLEASANT HS -
Grayson Atwood 2011 3B/1B from Mt. Pleasant, NC. Atwood plays his high school baseball for Mt. Pleasant. Grayson is the true meaning of a power corner guy. He also plays an excellent 3B. Grayson made several outstanding big league plays during the 16U WWBA Chamipionship run, including a fully extended laid out backhand with a bullet across the diamond to save Maples' no-hitter in the 6th inning. When Grayson stays on the baseball, he has hit light tower type homeruns. Atwood has tons of upside and could definitely be a 15+ homer guy in college!
#11 JOSHUA TOBIAS - SE GUILFORD HS - UNIVERSITY OF FLORIDA
Joshua Tobias 2011 INF/OF from Greensboro, NC and plays for SE Guilford HS. Even though this comment has been said before, it holds true now...Tobias is the best pure hitter in our program history. There has never been a hitter like Josh that we have even see playing for other organizations in the 5 years we have been doing this. Tobias squares up the baseball on a regular basis and squares it up very hard. The most impressive thing about Tobias is his ability to recognize off speed pitches and mash them. He is a great student athlete that has a 5.0 GPA. Tobias will most definitely be a permanent fixture in our #3 hole in 2010.
#12 LANDON LASSITER - NORTH DAVIDSON HS
Landon Lassiter 2012 MI from High Point, NC and plays his high school baseball for North Davidson HS. Lassiter is one of the premier shortstops in the country in the 2012 class. Landon makes all the routine plays and makes big league plays look a little too easy to the point where it leaves everyone at the ball park scratching their head. He is being heavily recruited by several top Division I programs. Lassiter also has outstanding work habits and excellent make-up. He is a great hitter that has an excellent idea of what he is doing when he steps in the box...just an outstanding all around baseball player and hates to lose more than anybody!
#13 ALEX MINTON - WEST WILKES HS
Alex Minton 2012 C from Wilkesboro, NC. Minton is as polished as you can be behind the plate and hits for SERIOUS power from the left side. His solid 6'3", 215 lb frame generates a ton of bat speed. Behind the plate Minton has very soft hands and has an absolute cannon behind the plate. He has been clocked sub 2.0 from his knees gunning down the opposition. We are very excited to have Minton as one of our catchers in 2010 and his bat will play every day whether he is catching or not!
#14 RYAN MAYHEW - WEST FORSYTH HS - UNC-WILMINGTON
Ryan Mayhew 2011 RHP from Clemmons, NC plays his high school baseball for Head Coach Randy Pope and West Forysth HS. Mayhew is a 3 pitch guy with a TON of upside. Mayhew has pin point location of all 3 pitches and really works both sides of the plate as good as their is at this level. Ryan's fastball has been in the upper 80's and he could be a consistent upper 80's guy touching 90 by summer time. Outstanding prospect on the mound and great kid! In 2009, Mayhew only had 1 bad start out of 13 outings. Look for Mayhew to get the ball in big game situations for the North Canes in 2010!
#15 JOSH CLARK - WEST FORSYTH HS
Josh Clark 2011 C from Clemmons, NC plays his high school baseball for Head Coach Randy Pope and West Forsyth HS. Ty's fastball has been clocked as high as 94 mph and his breaking ball has registered at 82 mph. Beede is a monster on the mound and comes down the hill as fast as anyone we have seen in a long time. No question that Tyler has a chance to be a very high draft pick in the 2011 June draft and will be a go to guy for us in any situation in 2010. There isn't a team in the country that Beede couldn't shut down if his stuff is working. You can see Beede with the North Canes all summer and in Jupiter in the fall of 2010.
#22 JORDAN RAMSEY - RHP - NORTH DAVIDSON HS - UNC-WILMINGTON

His 6'4" 190 lb frame in a few years may be 6'5"-6'6" with a muscular 215 lb. He is growing and getting a lot stronger every time he toes the rubber. His velocity has made the most jump of anyone in our program over 2009. By the end of the fall, Ramsey was consistently in the upper 80's and was our best performer on the mound at the Underclass WWBA in Ft.Myers, FL. We look for Jordan to be a big game pitcher for us in 2010.
#27 NICK THOMPSON - RHP/INF - WESTERN BRANCH HS - EAST CAROLINA
Nick Thompson 2011 - RHP/INF from Chesapeake, VA and plays his high school baseball for Head Coach Roland Wright at Western Branch HS. Thompson is one of the top hitters in the Canes organization and has the best eye at the plate as well. Pitchers have a very hard time getting Thompson to chase anything outside of the zone and Thompson also has as good an approach at the plate that we have in our organization as well. Nick can take the away pitch off the scoreboard or yank the inside pitch out of the yard. Nick will also serve as the ace for Western Branch HS for the 2nd year in a row and is a 3 pitch guy with upper 80's velocity. His above 4.0 GPA smarts translate well to the batters box, and mound! Just all around great player!

Luke Dulap - OF from Winston-Salem, NC plays his high school baseball for East Forsyth HS. Dunlap was one of the key contributors in the 2010 WWBA Championship run. Luke hit 5 balls off the wall and 2 home runs in the play-off round in East Cobb last year. Dunlap is a very good defender in the outfield with 6.9 speed and a good arm. His range in the outfield is good enough for him to patrol center. He also has the arm strength to play the corners as well. With the bat in his hand he has very good bat speed and has shown that he can hit for power in clutch situations! Luke is without a doubt one of the best 2011 outfielders left on the market in NC, if not the best one. Outstanding kid with great make-up and comes from a great family!
#33 MICHAEL GILL - RHP/OF - FLOWER MOUND - MARCUS
Michael Gill 2011 RHP/OF from Flower Mound, TX and plays his high school baseball for Flower-Mound Marcus HS. Gill is one of the top 2 way prospects in the country. Gill will be living in VA this summer and will attend most of the fall schedule in 2010 as well. Michael has 6.7 speed and his speed plays well in the outfield and on the bases. Very instinctive type player and has been a part of a lot championship teams in the past. With the bat in his hands he is a lead off type hitter that hits a lot of extra base hits, and is very instinctive on the bases always looking to go to the next bag. Gill is a very polished hitter and will be at the next level. Having Gill with us in 2010 makes us very strong adding depth on the mound and in our line-up.
#35 CURT BRITT - 2012 - RHP/1B - SCOTLAND HS
Curt Britt 2012 RHP/1B from Laurinburg, NC and plays his high school baseball for his father Tommy Britt at Scotland HS which is one of the top HS programs in NC every year. Britt has become a household name to college recruiters around the country and very well could be the top 2012 pitcher in the United States let alone NC,VA, and SC by a landslide. Britt's fastball has been clocked as high as 92 mph to compliment his lights out 12 to 6 curveball as well as change-up. From the left side of the plate, Curt is one of the top hitters in our program and does a great job handling the bat driving the baseball using the entire field. Outstanding kid to be around and a very hard worker in the weight room. We look for Curt to get nothing but better over the next 2 years and he could be looking at a very high draft status before its all said and done!
DAVID HOUSER - C/RHP/1B - 2012 - AC FLORA HS
David Houser 2012 C/RHP/1B - from Columbia, SC and plays his high school baseball for Andy Hallet at AC Flora HS. Houser just might be the best catcher in the 2012 class in the United States. According to Perfect Game he is. As far as receiving , there is no one better. Some of his throw downs have been clocked sub 1.8. He has an absolute CANNON behind the plate. On the mound, this translates to an 88-90mph fastball. With the bat in his hand he has a chance to be a middle of the order hitter for us and he is a switch hitter to boot. I have had several Division 1 coaches say that he could catch defensively in the Minor Leagues right now! We are excited to bring someone of this caliber into our program and he will be a main stay for the next 2 years in the Canes lineup!
Austin Chrismon 2010 RHP from Newport News, VA and plays his high school baseball for Menchville HS. Chrismon has recorded a record of 11-1 wearing a Canes uniform and his fastball has been clocked as high as 92 mph. Austin has a great slider and will be an overpowering arm to have with us at the 17U WWBA and Firecracker Classic in 2010. Ronald Womack 2010 LHP from Red Springs, NC and plays his HS baseball for Hoke County. Womack pitched the National Semifinal for the Canes going 8 innings and getting the win with his fastball registering as high as 91 mph and the one thing Womack is know for is his big looping breaking ball from the left side. Both Chrismon and Womack's Bdays make them eligible to play again in 2010!
